In an effort to push the proposed Morrison’s Marina project through, the Mayor continues to mislead the public. Claiming repeatedly that the only way to save the marina is to move forward with this project so the public will have access.
New Jersey Title 7 N.J.A.C. 7:7 COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT RULES Statutory authority state otherwise.
Below you can read the rules for existing or pre-existing marina development. Clearly stated in the Rule, 7:7-9.23 (g) 1. (i) , 75% of the total number of slips (existing and new) remain open to the general public. Section (iii) clearly states upland boat storage must be provided to accommodate at least 75% of the marinas boats 26 feet in length and longer and 25 percent of the marinas boats less than 26 feet in length.
The much ballyhooed fear of Plan B is a total hoax as well. No matter who develops the property or what they do to it, it must provide these things and the marina must remain operational. With a NO vote from the Land Use Board the application process starts over for any potential project, hopefully this time without the secrecy and lack of transparency.
